How do l know Mr Right?

There has been so much advice on how to know Mr Right, but in reality, it can be a hard task .

However, it need not be difficult if you place God first in the matter. Romans 8 verse 14 says ‘ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

In my own opinion it is a major decision that will impact on your whole life for a long long time. Is God interested? Yes He sure is, and He has already made provision for you.

So how do l know Mr Right? I will share the faithfulness of God from my own experience.

A good number of years ago, l prayed and said ‘Lord, before Mr Right comes, let me know who is he, and let the gentleman also know. That why, he knows what he wants, so do l before the question is asked.

The Lord was faithful and did exactly that.  For me, that was the best solution. I did not want a situation where l started dating, not sure whether or not he was the one, then the question popped.  Trying to hear God with emotions already involved, l thought was dangerous ground for error.

So that’s my story, many have different stories. Remember that the Lord is faithful and he wants the best for you. Ask Him for clear guidance on the matter and He will direct your path.

I strongly believe that following the Lord is critical in this decision. Only He will guide you aright. Remember, only God knows the heart of man and the future.

  1. I’ve always thought and prayed this exact same thing. That God would just bring him, my “Mr. Right” and when He does I would know and he would know. I figure that way I can’t go wrong because God doesn’t make mistakes… only people do. God bless! ~Jen

  2. As far as I know, God only has two stipulations for a “mate”….

    1. Be of the opposite sex and…

    2. Be a fellow believer.

The rest of up to God. So, stop worrying about “finding” someone with those qualifications! He knows where his sons and daughters are and at the right time – He’ll drop “Mr. or Mrs. Right” in your lap!

In fact, you could be wearing a bag on your head, bright pink shoes and bells in your nose and God’s man will still fall in love with you. 🙂

~ advice from an “old guy” happily married and the father of 16… (including nine daughters)

  3. Your “Mr. Right” has already been preordained by God before you were born. He will bring this man into your life in His perfect timing.

Take solace in this verse of scripture:
    Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to wait for God to implement His plan in our lives, and many times we substitute our own plans. This is precisely what happened to Sarah and Abraham in Genesis 16:1-5

    Psalm 27:14
    Wait for the LORD;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the LORD.
