Wisdom for 2010
Proverbs 1 verse 5: A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.
Lets break this down:
A wise man will hear: We need to be open to what we are not familiar with. The reason why we turn a closed ear to things is because we think we know it all, or whatever we are about to hear is not familiar.
We need to be honest with ourselves. If something has not worked for us for a number of years, there must be a reason. Let’s be open to people that the Lord brings our way, messages, ministry gifts and listen to what they have to say.
A wise man will increase learning: It’s not enough to hear something once. We need to develop and keep on hearing these things until they become part of out lives. This is important when it is something that appears new. The truth of the matter is that there is always something new to learn, no one has arrived.
A man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: Do you need advice? Are you in the dark on something? Let’s seek wise counsel. Let’s not ignore what others have to say, especially if what we require is working in their own lives.
We have problems sometimes when we lack the appropriate wisdom for a solution. The Lord is every ready to help and supply what we need.
