Staying faithful during a difficult time

Have you every gone through a difficult time and felt like packing it all in?

Well l am sure most people have but that’s not the right response. In addition to that, that’s the response the enemy really wants.

Lets look at an example from scripture:

 Luke 1

5THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

6And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

7And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

8And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his course,

9According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

10And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

11And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

12And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

13But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

14And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

Verse 7 says that  they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

The phrase ‘were now well stricken in age’ indicates that the situation had been there for a very long time.

Verse 8 also shows that he continued to do, what he was supposed to do during this long period of time.

8And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his course,

The rest is history, it was while he was doing what he was supposed to be doing that the Lord sent an angel to him. Suppose Zacharias said to himself. l will stop doing this, we probably would never have the account in the bible.

Our first priority should be to Love the Lord . Matthew 22: 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38This is the first and great commandment.

This earth is a temporary journey. Trials come, delays come, but God is faithful.

It’s the enemy that tries to steal, kill and destroy, don’t allow him. Remember the devil is your enemy. Don’t let him stop you from going to church, home church, or doing what is right.

God will come through for you. If He gave us his son, How much more shall He not freely give us all things!! Romans 8:  32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Delay does not mean denial, stay faithful and He will come through for you!!.
