True Treasure

Treasure is something very precious and of great value.

 Lets look at a few things refereed to as ‘treasure’ from the scriptures.

 The fear of the Lord:

 Isaiah 33:5-6

 5The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

 6And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

 The kingdom of Heaven

 Matthew 13:44

 44Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

The Word of God

Proverbs 2 1 – 5

 1My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

 2So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

 3Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

 4If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

5Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

The light of the Knowledge of Christ in our hearts

2 Corinthians 4

6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

 7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We need to value the treasures we have. Treasures are precious. This is also why we need to guards our hearts because true treasures  are rooted in our hearts.

Matthew 6:21

 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Gods value system is very different from our value system. Lets guard our treasures diligently.
