Is it time to move?
Do you think its time to move? Do you think its time to relocate and go somewhere else? Perhaps the Lord is prompting you to do something else, however your senses are saying, ‘ but Lord they need me here’.
If we look at our circumstances or demands around us to make decisions we will miss it. Gods ways are higher than our ways and we need to be led by Him and not our circumstances.
Lets look at an example from scripture:
Luke 4: 31, 40 – 43
31And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
40Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
42And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
43And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
44And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
I think this is a great lesson for us. According the verse 43 ‘ the people asked the Lord not to depart in other words not to leave them in Capernaum’, however the Lord always follows the Father: John 8: 27 ‘I do nothing of myself’ and John 8: 29: And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
This is the principle we should follow: ‘To do nothing of ourselves’ and to always do those things that please Him’.
Yes there was a demand in Capernaum, however the Lord went to where He was sent. Notice the Lords response in verse 43:
And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
We are not to go or stay where there is a need but where we are sent. According to this verse, it was time for the Lord to go to Galilee and so did He go.
Do you have a prompting to begin to do things differently, but you are thinking, ‘ what’s wrong in doing it this way? Or do you have an urge to change, relocate, leave that job, whatever it may be. The wise obey the Lord because He knows much better than we do. After all, servants go to where the master sends them. They do not do their own thing.
1 Corinthians 7:23
23Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
Romans 8: 22
22But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
This is the principle we need to follow if we want to obey the Lord. So is it time to move? Ask the Lord and He will direct, not the situation, circumstance or demands of men.
