Its not just the body that needs to be healed!

Did you realise that its not just the body that requires healing sometimes? Most of the time, when we hear of a ‘healing meeting; our minds race and conclude ‘ this is for those that need healing in their bodies’. The reality of it is that, the need for healing is not limited to healing for the body.

The word healed means ‘ to become sound or healthy again. Therefore it is save to say that ‘Anything in our lives, or any area that is not sound or yielding soundness needs to be healed. This includes the functioning of the body but it is not limited to it.

Lets look at an interesting account in the second book of Kings:

The people of Jericho brought a situation to Elisha:

2 Kings 2: 19 – 20

19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.

20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.

21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.

22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.

The waters were not yielding what they were supposed to yield and needed healing. If waters needed healing, how much us in various areas in our lives that are not functioning as they are supposed to?

Lets call upon the Lord and ask for healing in areas of our life where perfect soundness is not operating. Healing from emotional wounds, causing us now to be suspicious of anyone that wants to get close to us. We put up walls and refuse anyone to get close to us again. Could it be because we need healing in our emotions?

Jeremiah 30: 17

For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

The wounds of life can come from various sources. The Lord is able to heal our wounds. It does not matter where those wounds have come from.

Lets acknowledge the need for healing were we are not operating in total health and ask the Lord to heal us.
