The real proof of strength
Sometimes it take trials in life to know whether we are really strong or not. This is why we need to build up ourselves in the Lord and in His Word all the time.
Proverbs 24; 10
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
So how do we get strength?
Ephesians 6: 10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
We are to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. We are not told to be strong in our church opinions, but in the Lord Himself and in the power of His might. Our focus must be on the Lord.
Isaiah 40: 29 – 31
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
We renew our strength by waiting upon the Lord. By spending time in His presence.
Matthew 4: 4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Acts 20: 32
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Just as bread provides strength to our bodies, the Word of God when fed to our sprits gives us strength and builds us up.
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Praying in the spirit builds us up.
How much of the above do you do daily? or weekly?. We need to be careful not to give too much time to things that do not build up. We need to examine all things and ask ourselves the question, what am l doing to ensure l become stronger in Him? This will hep us in times of trial which comes to us all.
